This last Saturday, we had Emily's birthday party. Since she is our "Little Lady Bug" we had a Lady Bug themed birthday party. We were planning on having her party outside and were going to play water games and let the kids run through the sprinkler and play on the splash pad, but because of the off and on bad weather that day, we were unable to do what we had originally planned. We had however bought each one of the kids a bubble wand and that was perfect!
So instead of the water fun, we did bubbles and the kids had just as much fun (and so did the daddy's!). Then for dinner, my "dutch oven pro" dad made a yummy Chicken Taco Pie in the dutch oven. It was so good, we were all too full to have cake. So to give us some time to make room for cake, Emily opened her presents.
And can I say that she is soooo spoiled! She got a lot of cute clothes and GIRL toys (yea!!!)
After she and the other kids had made a mess with the wrapping paper and you could no longer see the floor, we decided it was time for cake.
We had made Emily her own cake and then two bigger ones for everyone else.
In fact, she didn't really want to have anything to do with it! She stuck her fingers in it a couple of times, licked them, and then she was done. I think she fed daddy more of her cake than she ate herself.
Yeah, so this is as messy as she got, so I guess we could have kept her dressed!
It was a lot of fun, but I think we were all pretty tuckered out by the end of the day! Especially the Birthday Girl.

She looks like such a big girl! I am so amazed at how much hair she has. Laurel might be 5 when she finally gets hair. Emily is so cute. We are planning a party in a few weeks for Laurel. It is fun to get some ideas. It's funny to me because I don't think Laurel has many "girl" toys which is strange for being the 1st child. I'm thinking a little doll might be a good present for Laurel.
