Being Mesquite, there isn't much for kids to do, so we spent a lot of time at the playground and at the swimming pool. The kids had a blast! It was perfect weather being in the 80's instead of their normal 100+. One night as we were getting ready to leave the playground because it was getting dark, into the parking lot came an ice cream truck! It was like 9:00 at night! I kept thinking that they had to be selling "more" than just ice cream driving around that late. ;)The pool was pretty nice, but since it gets so warm down there, they don't heat the pool. So the water was a little chilly. It took the kids a little while to get in, which I don't blame them, and since the hot tubs were a little bit warmer, they spent most of the time in those. We had planned to take our kids to the park, so we didn't get them into their swimming suits, but that didn't stop Bryce. He was drenched up to at least his waist. Emily stayed dry because she didn't want anything to do with the pool.
While we were in Vegas, grandma and grandpa took Bryce and Emily to the pool again- this time they had swimming suits on. They told us that Bryce didn't want to get into the pool (of course the one time he was wearing his swimming suit) so Aunt Sally took care of that and took him in with her and then grandpa grabbed Emily and took her in the pool. Bryce was okay after a few minutes, but Emily screamed the whole time until they took her out. I guess we need to take our kids to the pool more often!
