Letter W

For the letter W we talked about Weather. Every night we read a book about a different type of weather ("Snowy Day", "Sunny Day", "Rainy Day", etc.). The day we talked about rain, the kids put together a Mr. Cloud craft and did a science experiment that taught about the process of rain. When they were putting together their Mr. Cloud craft, I told Emily to put the arms, legs, etc. in the same places as Bryce was putting them on his. Well....bet you can't guess which one is hers and which one is Bryce's!;D

After they were done gluing their craft together, we did the science experiment. Each one got a cotton ball and a small cup of water. Then we talked about the rain process. They learned how the water fills up the clouds and then when the cloud gets heavy and can't hold anymore water, it releases some of the water as rain. By the end of the science experiment, the table was drenched (since they didn't hold their rain clouds over the cup), but at least they learned something and had fun doing so.
